BIO

Alina Sobotta was born in 1992, studied Feminist Studies at UC Santa Cruz, USA, American Studies and European Anthropology at Humboldt-University Berlin and is currently enrolled at Hamburg theatre academy (HfMT Hamburg) as a director. Simultaneously studies Russian and Polish literatures at Hamburg University (UHH).

She is invested in merging artistic practice with academic studies in the fields of history, migration, and literature, with a focus on Eastern-European and US-cultures. Her work is influenced by biographical storytelling and contemporary dance. Dedicated to continue researching hybrid formats between installation, performance and spoken theater in artistic collaborations.
